Problem
The stub axle of the (electric motor) rotor has been severely damaged.
The roller bearing has jammed, which causes the inner ring of the bearing to rotate on the axle. As a result of the overload, the stub axle has bent by 0.2 mm.
-
Solution
Bearing ring is removed, the axle is adressed and then repaired by flame spraying and grinding.
Because flame spraying a relatively "cold" process, there is no risk of the axle warping or the rotor overheating.
