Problem
An axle bush was mounted on this bow thruster axle. There is split crevice corrosion between the axle bush and the axle. This has caused 2.5mm of corrosion on the axle. The axle bush ceramic is lightly run-in.
-
Solution
The corrosion was repaired by flame spraying and finishing. The axle bush was re-ground. The remaining thickness was sufficient.
