Problem, idea and solution
This is a propeller shaft of a yacht.
The shaft, fitted with bronze bushings, is mounted in the water using lubricated rubber bearings.
Sand, rotational tension corrosion and pitting affect the bronze.
Revamo repaired the bushings by applying a high quality, seawater resistant coating by flame spraying. The coating was then impregnated in order to close any pores. The buses were ground and polished.
