Problem
This concerns a high pressure pump for the dairy industry. The bore of the drive pulley is removed by fretting. The drive pulley was "working" the crankshaft resulting in fatigue and a piece of the stub axle breaking.
-
Solution
The crankshaft was repaired by welding, creation of a new keyway and flame spraying and regrinding.
The bore of the drive pulley was repaired by flame spraying and internally re-ground.
